Mona Moraht

Born in Hamburg in the late 1960s and based in Berlin since 2001, Mona Moraht is a versatile and creative landscape and architectural photographer. Her passion for photography began at school when she discovered her father's medium format camera, a relic from the 1950s, still with its bellows. This was the beginning of a varied and exciting journey through the world of photography.

In 1998, Mona bought her first SLR camera, which was still analogue at the time. A lot has happened since then and today Mona travels with a Canon digital camera on photo trips and expeditions. Thanks to her many years of experience, she is familiar with all the advantages that a modern camera system has to offer, both in terms of taking the photos and post-processing them.

Since 2016, a particular focus of her work has been photographing abandoned places. Mona often travels many miles to capture the beauty and uniqueness of forgotten and derelict buildings. Her travels have taken her to places such as Chernobyl, Georgia and Lebanon. But Italy, with its rich heritage of history, nostalgia and old charm, is also a favourite of hers.

Mona also specialises in classic architecture, landscape and nature photography, always on the lookout for the perfect moment and the unique atmosphere of a special place. For this likeable photographer, her hobby is a passion, a demand and a challenge all at the same time. Waiting for the right light, searching for the perfect location and striving for technical perfection are essential components of her artistic work.

Mona is a member of renowned photographic organisations such as the Deutsche Verband für Fotografie (DVF), the Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA). Her participation in numerous national and international photography competitions has resulted in numerous awards. She holds the "EFIAP/b" prize of the FIAP and the "PPSA" prize of the PSA.
