Thomas Bichler

Thomas Bichler lives in Radolfzell on Lake Constance and has made an international name for himself as an outstanding nude and landscape photographer. He also specialises in photo coaching, workshops and travel journalism. He is the author of several illustrated books and regularly publishes annual calendars. His work has been featured in prestigious international magazines and has won numerous awards.

Thomas' photographic focus is on minimalist black and white images. His work is subtle, calm and serene, sometimes even a little abstract. The focus is on inconspicuous subjects. The harmonious overall impression is created by wide, soft surfaces, a reduction of individual elements and unconventional angles of view. The choice of black and white is deliberate, so as not to distract the viewer from the essence of the subject, even when working with photographic models.

Landscape and nude photography are inextricably linked in Thomas's work. He poses his models in front of picturesque backdrops such as waterfalls, which surround them like a light veil, or in contrast to rough stone landscapes, where soft skin meets hard stone. These scenes are framed by wild nature under high mountain peaks, often in adverse weather conditions for the models. But Thomas loves 'uncomfortable' weather. Most of his landscape photographs are long exposures that dissolve nature into fascinating structures and lines. The results are images of abstract beauty and an almost surreal feel.

But one thing we do know is that Thomas' photos are creative creations with a style all their own. They are a tribute to the human body and to raw nature. Two completely different things, but Thomas combines them in a unique way to create a beautiful and breathtaking work of art.

Unser uneingeschränkter fotografischer Respekt gilt Thomas. Aber wir schauen auch respektvoll - fast ungläubig - auf seine Modelle, die teilweise akrobatisch in der Felswand hängen. Was für eine athletische Leistung!
