Felix Röser

to the home page

Felix Röser, born in Altendorf and now living in Burgebrach at the foot of the Steigerwald near Bamberg, is a creative landscape photographer. He developed a passion for photography while still at school and never let it go. After leaving school, he decided to turn his fascination for images into a career and began an apprenticeship as a commercial photographer in a large studio in Nuremberg. After just a year and a half, he took the bold step of going freelance - a decision that has since paved his way to national and international recognition.

Felix has been working as a freelance photographer since 2012. In addition to his work as a landscape photographer, he also works as a photo editor, location scout and wedding photographer in the Nuremberg area. His true passion, however, is unspoilt nature.

His travels to the far corners of the world have taken him to 25 countries, including arctic regions, snow-capped mountains and desolate deserts, some of which he has visited several times. Felix loves discovering unspoilt places that surprise the viewer. He deliberately avoids the comforts of permanent accommodation, preferring to spend the night in a tent or car. This closeness to nature allows him to experience the environment intensely and capture it perfectly.

Felix is able to capture landscapes in such a way that they seem almost unreal. His photographs often look like paintings, characterised by a masterful play of light. They show the world from a new perspective - majestic, monumental and of fascinating brilliance. More than documentary, his photographs are works of art and a tribute to the beauty and fragility of our planet.

What is particularly impressive is the way Felix harmoniously combines opposites. Tranquillity and dynamism, light and shade, rough shapes and soft surfaces all blend into a balanced whole in his images. This ability makes his work unique and elevates it far above the usual landscape photography.

His work has won several awards: He won the Natural Landscape Photography Award in the 'Environment' category and was twice shortlisted for the International Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020, one of the most important prizes in landscape photography. In May 2024, Felix was awarded the Culture Prize of his home town of Altdorf and was named 'Artist of the Month' by the Metropolitan Region of Nuremberg. In the same year, he was featured in the Frankenschau programme on Bavarian Radio.

As well as his stunning photography, Felix is also involved in other exciting projects. He runs landscape photography workshops in Iceland and shares his knowledge in video tutorials.
