Christian Hütter

Christian Hütter is a nature and wildlife photographer from Bergkamen in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Even as a child he was interested in wildlife and spent many hours in nature. Armed only with binoculars, he devoted himself mainly to birdwatching, with owls and birds of prey particularly fascinating him.

In 1985, Christian bought his first SLR camera and began to capture his observations in pictures. Over the following years, nature photography became more and more his passion. He taught himself by studying books and magazines on the subject.

A major turning point in his photographic career came in 1997 when he made his first trip to Florida. This trip sparked in him the desire to perhaps one day pursue nature photography professionally. From 1999 to 2004, he pursued this goal on a semi-professional basis, until early 2004, when he ventured out on his own as a wildlife and nature photographer.

At the same time, he was offered the opportunity to work by the hour at a photo agency as a scan operator and later as a captioner. This provided him with important image processing skills and a deeper insight into the professional image market. In 2008, Christian left the image agency to concentrate on his photographic projects.

Although his passion takes him far and wide in search of new photographic subjects, local nature remains at the heart of his work. Christian works with national and international photo agencies and print media and many of his images are regularly published in books, magazines, calendars, brochures, postcards and advertising campaigns.

He shows us in a wonderful way that you don't have to travel far to find beauty. It is often right on our doorstep, all we have to do is look. And so we go on an exciting journey of discovery with his 10 photos, not only to distant countries, but also to Christian's neighbourhood. But no matter where his photos are taken, we are always amazed by fascinating details and atmospherically photographed landscapes and animals.
