Ulrich Heidemann
Ulrich - Uli for short - Heidemann from Mühlheim an der Ruhr, Germany, is a people photographer born in the 1960s who worked in the IT industry before retiring to work as a consultant all over Europe, dealing with a lot of people. For Uli, the true beauty and importance of people photography lies in its ability to connect people - be it the model, the photographer or anyone else involved in the process - to create something lasting together.
It all started quite harmlessly for Uli. Photography, a nice little hobby, but then he was bitten by the photography bug and the hobby became a passion, then a deep emotional passion. This is partly due to Uli's ambition, his drive to constantly learn new things and become better and better.
Over the years, Uli has invested heavily in photography, attending workshops, renting studios and experimenting with different approaches. Through ups and downs, mistakes and successes, he found his way into people photography. Eventually, he took over the studio where he had tried so much and continued his photographic journey on a new level.
Uli does most of his photography in his new studio, Ballroom Blitz. It is a rental studio as he always imagined it - with a thousand possibilities: at ground level, perfect for car and motorcycle shots, equipped with a rain set, various backdrops and standard backgrounds. Daylight is possible, as is the use of technical equipment such as studio flash and LEDs. Almost all of his pictures are taken here; he rarely goes outside and when he does, it is with flash and fill light.
In his current photographic work, Uli concentrates mainly on the portrayal of women in the areas of boudoir, art nude - an artistic form of sensual photography - and portraiture.

10Photos says: In a nutshell, Uli can be described as a very communicative, passionate and likeable enthusiast. These are three ingredients that are absolutely essential for creative people who want to photograph at the highest level. But it's not just the creativity that inspires us, it's the artistic way in which Uli photographs. Small details combined with unusual, exciting lighting and fascinating ideas create an extraordinary, yet amazingly harmonious whole. As a result, Uli's photographs often stand out from classic (sensual) photography. We are more than impressed. And even though we know his work very well by now, we still say "WOW!".
