The likeable, self-taught photographer sees photography as an artistic, creative process that begins not with the release of the shutter, but in the mind. Whether carefully planned or spontaneously improvised - like a painter in front of a white canvas. His canvas is the sensor or negative, the lens his brush. Light, environment and model are his colors.

For him, nude photography is the most challenging form of people photography. He often works with concealment, targeted lighting and careful choice of pose. His credo: "You should be able to show a good nude photo on a Sunday afternoon over coffee with your family without blushing.

His style is characterized by reduction, contrast, and a clear visual language. Often in black and white, his works focus on the form, structure and grace of the human body. Jürgen uses spaces, natural backdrops or unusual props as a stage, without ever allowing them to become an end in themselves. The models never appear exposed, but as part of a larger, often almost symbolic whole. His compositions are well thought out, sometimes provocative, but never obtrusive. For all their formal rigor, they retain a certain lightness - sometimes sensual and soft, sometimes graphic and powerful. But always with respect, aesthetics, and a keen sense of the essential.

Some might describe his images as "inaccurately exposed" - but Jürgen deliberately does not use the camera's automatic functions. His focus is not on technically perfect lighting, but on the effect of light and shadow on the model. Expression, atmosphere and composition are more important to him than measurable correctness - an artistic approach that gives his photographs a special depth.

Auch in der Nachbearbeitung bleibt er seiner Philosophie treu. Programme wie Photoshop setzt er zwar ein, aber nur dezent – als Werkzeug für den letzten Feinschliff. Ein gelungenes Bild muss für Jürgen zu 90 Prozent direkt aus der Kamera kommen. Stundenlanges Retuschieren am Bildschirm liegt ihm nicht, was wohl auch an seiner analogen Prägung liegt
