Dominik Kohlsdorf

The beginning of his photographic journey was characterized by landscape and urban photography, which helped him to train his eye for composition and light. Since 2018 Dominik focuses on portrait and people photography. His work takes him mainly to Berlin, Leipzig and of course nearby Dresden, but also beyond the borders of Germany to Paris and on longer shooting trips to Italy or the sunny island of Crete.

For Dominik, the contact with people is the most important thing. Capturing moments and emotions is the central theme of his photography. With a focus on black and white photography in natural light, he creates images that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also show people authentically.

Dominik emphasizes the constant challenge of improving his photography and developing an individual style. The highlight for him is the satisfaction of his own work and the development of a personal visual language, which is difficult but extremely rewarding.

His work is characterized by a wealth of moods that express the intensity and depth of his portraits. He always strives to maintain authenticity and stay true to his own style. For Dominik, photography is much more than a craft - it is a way of connecting with people, sharing wonderful moments and, almost incidentally, creating memories.
