Holger Walch from Eppingen in Germany is an amateur photographer with professional ambitions. Even after a long period of active photography, he is not satisfied with what he has achieved. He strives for the best, because mediocrity is not his thing. Photographers such as Andreas Jorns, Markus Hoppe and Peter Lindbergh serve him as an orientation and inspiration.

Holger's main focus is on portraits, but he is also interested in fashion photography. Although he mainly works in black and white, he doesn't want to do without color photography - also to satisfy the models' wishes. As a technical journalist, he occasionally uses his camera professionally, but his "models" are robots, frequency converters and combine harvesters.

Holger enjoys shooting in the studio as well as outdoors. He doesn't do well-designed shoots and can do without stereotypical poses and pose-proof models. He likes to go into a shoot with an open mind and often finds his ideas for pictures in the outdoor work through the location and also likes to implement suggestions from his models.

10Photos says: Holger impresses us with his wonderfully stylish and authentic portraits. Right in the middle of life and not sterile in a studio, even if one or two pictures were taken there. But that's what makes his work so fascinating. It is the emotions, the charisma of the people portrayed that are visible and inspiring, no matter where they were photographed. It is the person, not an anonymous model, that we admire in his images. We see emotion and passion. Simply great!
