Ramesh Karmakar, born in the mid-1990s, is a passionate Indian wildlife photographer and videographer with a special focus on birds. What started as a childhood enthusiasm for nature while traveling with his father, developed into a deep connection with wildlife and a great passion for photography. Since 2018, Ramesh has been capturing the fascinating birdlife of his homeland with growing technical skill and artistic flair - in marshy wetlands, dense forests, and high in the treetops.

He is not only interested in biodiversity, but also in telling stories. His images are far more than mere documentation of nature - they capture moments full of dynamism, emotion and poetry. Hunting and courtship scenes, the interplay of light and movement, close-ups as if from another reality: Ramesh captures moments so powerfully that we don't just watch, we become immersed - in the lives of the animals, in their strength, their vulnerability, and their fascinating behavior.

His photography is characterized by dedication and physical commitment. He is often up to his neck in water to capture birds in action and from the best perspective. At the same time, Karmakar is a reflective photographer, constantly evolving his approach through new angles, different lighting, and composition. Even in post-production, he strives for naturalness: the colors are vibrant without ever being overdone.

His more recent photographs reveal an increasingly narrative approach. He is no longer just interested in capturing a rare moment, but in telling a story beyond the individual image - of grace, the art of survival, or the delicate balance of nature, for example. This shift towards a more conscious, almost poetic visual language is what makes his work so fascinating.

The selection of his images on 10Photos provides an impressive insight into the diversity of his photographic language - from razor-sharp action shots to delicate, almost dreamy scenes against the light. The compositions are always clear and well thought out, often dominated by a lush green or a blurred background that brings the animal into focus in all its beauty. Despite the variety, one signature is clearly recognizable: the quiet elegance with which Ramesh Karmakar stages his subjects sets him apart from many other wildlife photographers.

His work has been exhibited internationally - including in Bangladesh, Russia, Dubai and India - and regularly appears in renowned magazines such as National Geographic, BBC Wildlife and Smart Photography. It is a testament to the fact that his skills as a wildlife photographer are recognized far beyond the borders of India.
