Julia is the founder of ((en)Visionography™, the artistic movement that aims to define a new way of doing art photography, and has introduced the concept of 'total artistic freedom' in photography, a concept that is reflected in her original editing method 'Photography Drawing'. Experts in the field have said of her original concepts: "I consider Julia's (En)Visionography and Photography Drawing to be the most important innovation in black and white photography since the invention of the zone system.

Widely respected photography theoretician, Julia is one of the first artists working extensively with digital photography who became aware and publicly spoke in her books, articles, lectures, and workshops about the need to see digital photography as a new discipline, independent from traditional analog photography, due to the fundamental differences in the way they are experienced and created.

Author of the best-selling book From Basics to Fine Art – Black and White Photography, a book that quickly became a reference for the black and white fine art photography community, Julia's aim is to push the boundaries and innovate with her work, so as to create a new aesthetic in photography.

Her black and white photographs are not only visually stunning, but also bring out the creative and emotional dimension of urban structures.
