Serdar Ugurlu from Alfter near Bonn, Germany, born in the late 1960s, is a landscape photographer, mentor and founder of PhotoTours4U - a provider of masterclass workshop photo tours. His entry into the world of images began in 1995 with a digital camera bought for party shots - but the playful start was soon followed by a deep fascination with nature. Just four years later, on a photography trip through the south-west of the USA, he discovered his passion for landscape photography and capturing the perfect moment. Since then, he has been committed to the principle of "quality over quantity" - instead of quickly consuming superficial images, he takes the time to intensively observe natural conditions and immerse himself in their depth.

His approach to landscape photography is characterised by patience and a meditative calm that has become rare in our fast-paced times. Serdar plans his trips meticulously, uses modern tools for pre-visualisation and waits patiently for the interplay of light, time and place to transform an ordinary scene into an emotional experience. He is not concerned with mere documentation, but with telling a story - his images often reveal inconspicuous details that only reveal their significance at second glance. He attaches great importance to capturing the natural atmosphere of a place, so that even seemingly unspectacular landscapes become moving, almost poetic snapshots.

Serdar's clear, pared-down visual language thrives on the skilful interplay of natural light and subtle nuances of colour. Using muted, elegant tones that give the images a serene, timeless quality, he is able to focus on the character of the location. Creative choice of perspective also plays a central role - he captures his subjects from unusual angles, opening up a new, fresh approach to nature. This detailed yet holistic approach sets him apart from many other photographers, who are often caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, taking quick, dispassionate snapshots.

In addition to his artistic work as a photographer, Serdar has been leading international photo tours and workshops under the PhotoTours4Ulabel since 2012. Together with Raik Krotofil , he shares his extensive knowledge and passion for landscape photography as a mentor.
