Philipp Jakesch

Philipp Jakesch, born in Styria, Austria and raised in the breathtaking countryside around Bruck an der Mur, is a multi-award winning nature photographer specialising in landscape and wildlife photography. He discovered his enthusiasm for nature as a child and began to express this passion in pictures. He took his first steps with his father's analogue camera before digital technology opened up new possibilities at the turn of the millennium.

Philipp has been working as a freelance photographer since 2017. In addition to this creative work, he shares his knowledge on photo trips, workshops and on his successful YouTube channel . His books 'Wasserlandschaften fotografieren' and 'Fotoscout: Photographing Austria's National Parks' are a testament to his expertise and attention to detail.

Philipp's images are of exceptional quality and naturalness. You will look in vain for exaggerated editing or unrealistic colours - instead he shows nature as it really is, in its honest yet overwhelming beauty.

A multi-talented photographer, he is a stickler for the right light, preferring the early morning or late evening hours to capture his subjects in all their atmospheric glory. One of the top 101 images in the International Landscape Photography Awards, one of the most prestigious competitions for landscape photography.
Regular top placings in the FEP Awards (the European Professional Photographers' Awards) confirming the quality of his work.
Awarded the title of Qualified European Photographer (QEP) in 2022, an honour that confirms him as a highly qualified photographer at European level.
Progression to Master Qualified European Photographer (MQEP) in 2023, an accolade awarded to fewer than 100 photographers across Europe.

Because of his expertise, he has been invited to judge several national and international competitions.
