Peter began taking photographs with his own SLR camera and learnt the art of analogue negative and positive development while still at school. Visiting various exhibitions at Photokina in Cologne intensified his fascination with black and white photography. He was particularly impressed by the work of great photographers such as Ansel Adams, whose image 'Moonrise, Hernandez' overwhelmed and inspired him.

Although Peter was initially very versatile in his choice of subjects and covered a wide range of topics, his hobby had to take a back seat to his profession for a while. Shortly after the turn of the millennium, he discovered the possibility of printing images in specialist magazines, which led him back to photography. Peter attended various workshops and began to digitise and print his old negatives.

Since buying his first digital camera in 2010, he has taken his hobby more seriously. He prefers to work with people, which is why he specialises in portrait and nude photography. Peter appreciates black and white photography for its pure aesthetics. The absence of colour allows a clear focus on the essentials and gives the images a melancholic atmosphere, similar to a good old black and white film with appropriate jazz music.

His fascination with portrait and nude photography lies in the diversity and uniqueness of human faces and bodies. Portraying people naked, but in a dignified and aesthetic way, is the greatest artistic challenge for this sensitive photographer.
