Ingrid Blessing

Ingrid Blessing discovered photography in 2015, but her creative journey began much earlier. Always fascinated by art, she experimented with different forms of expression - whether with a paintbrush, a printing press or through the lens of a camera. Today, the Bonn-based photographer and photojournalist combines her years of experience as a communications manager with her passion for telling stories through images.

Her photographic work covers a wide range of subjects, with a focus on people and reportage photography. She loves to rediscover people in front of her camera, whether in intensive portrait sessions or in long-term projects that provide insights behind the obvious. Nature and street photography are also an integral part of her creative work. She finds her subjects everywhere: on her travels, in everyday encounters, or in the hidden details of urban life. Her focus is often on the magic of the moment, the interplay of vibrancy and quiet fragility.

Ingrid's portrait photography thrives on a palpable closeness to the people she portrays. Her images are characterized by a quiet intensity that goes far beyond the surface. The sensitive photographer succeeds in making vulnerability and strength equally visible - often in a reduced visual language, sometimes with surprising, almost theatrical elements. Expressive faces, well-considered lighting, and a keen sense of gesture and direction give her photographs an emotional depth.

Whether quiet and introspective or confrontational and powerful, Ingrid gives her models space to unfold. The results are images that not only document, but also tell stories: of self-images, moods, and moments of tension and trust. Her portraits are not quick depictions, but encounters at eye level - open, honest and visually striking.

10Photos says: "Ingrid Blessing's photography fascinates us because she interweaves the visible with the invisible. Her images are not lifeless snapshots, but sensitive narratives about identity, emotion and humanity. With a keen sense of atmosphere, proximity, and composition, she creates spaces for people to show themselves-not perfectly, but authentically. This is the strength of her work: the courage to be intimate, the eye for nuance, and the ability to transform the fleeting into something lasting. Her work shows how powerful the quiet tones can be - and how moving photography can still be today. It is photography that touches - and lingers. Art that doesn't have to be loud to be effective. We think so: Absolutely great!
