Bird photography is a focus of his work, but other wildlife and impressive macro shots of insects and other small creatures are also included in his extensive portfolio. Günter deliberately avoids heavy image processing, focusing instead on the authenticity of the moment. The perfect combination of light, perspective and timing is his trademark.

A key aspect of Günter's photography is his patience. For a series on Grey Herons, he waited for four days on a frozen lake in temperatures as low as -18 degrees Celsius, taking care not to disturb the birds. His love of nature is also evident in his elaborate camouflage, which allows him to photograph the animals at close range in their natural behaviour without disturbing them.

One of his favourite subjects is the 'jewel of nature', the kingfisher. For Günter, this colourful bird symbolises the beauty of the animal world, but also its fragility. Since 2013 he has also been documenting white storks in the Trabitz region, making a valuable contribution to nature conservation. He is passionate about biodiversity conservation and shares his knowledge through lectures and events.

At a time when the environment is under increasing pressure, Günter's images are not just photographs, but a reminder to protect our home by treating it with care and responsibility. For this likeable photographer, nature is our most precious asset, and we must preserve it in all its diversity, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations. This commitment is also reflected in the founding of the Trabitz Nature Conservation Group.

Günter has made a name for himself with numerous national and international awards, including several medals and certificates. Whether in Germany, Scandinavia or even Australia, his photographs impress with their technical perfection and artistic expressiveness. Awards such as the FIAP Bronze Medal and the Gold Medal at the DVF Bayern Quarterly Competition 2024 underline his outstanding skills.
