Christian Schneider, born in 1991, is a Berlin-based photographer whose work thrives on the versatility of his artistic approach. He has made it his mission to capture the passions of others with his camera - be it the dynamics of dance, the emotions of sport, the vibrancy of the city or the creative capture of people and places. He always strives for authenticity: natural light and the unadulterated mood of the moment are more important to him than elaborate sets or artificial staging.

His photographic roots go back to his school days, when he gained his first experience of film and video editing through media projects. While studying agricultural sciences, he began to work in parallel with photography and film production, for which he received several awards and prizes. Since 2008, he has been working professionally on projects and commissions, pursuing his passion for dance and movement with particular intensity.

A hallmark of Christian's work is the symbiosis between people and their surroundings. In his photographs, particularly his dance photography, the city becomes a stage on which the aesthetics of movement are captured in powerful and vivid images. He combines the timing and elegance of dance with architecture and urban atmosphere to create dynamic yet emotional images.

But his work is about much more than dance and sport. Christian portrays the people of the city, not just as a backdrop, but as an active part of the production. Whether in their leisure time or in pursuit of a personal passion, he focuses on people and shows the stories of urban life in all its facets in an authentic and artistically exciting way. Each image conveys a connection between the personality of the person portrayed and the atmosphere of their home.

The photographic effort is deliberately kept to a minimum, as Christian prefers to work with natural light and minimal post-processing, which gives his images a special authenticity and depth. Technique should be a means and not an end in itself, and so the depiction of emotion or passion, but also the story behind the moment, is more important to him than a perfect image.

Christian's commitment to women's football in the Berlin-Brandenburg region is particularly impressive: he has been supporting the women's 1st team of SV Blau-Weiß Hohen Neuendorf and the women's team of ALBA BERLIN Basketball on a voluntary basis since 2022. His work goes far beyond photography - it is a statement for more recognition and visibility in women's sport.
