Arkadiy Kurta
Arkadiy Kurta, born in 1977 in the Ukrainian city of Sumy, has been working as a photographer since 2005. After graduating from the renowned Kyiv School of Photography with a Bachelor's degree in 2007, he began his professional career as a photographer in 2009. Today he lives and works in Berlin, where he combines his passion for photography with organising workshops for photographers and models.

Specialising in nude, portrait and street photography, Arkadiy's distinctive style is characterised by innovative lighting, subtle contrasts and an artistic fusion of people and urban space. His ability to capture the atmosphere and personality of his models in unusual, often contrasting contexts - for example, juxtaposing soft, sensual forms with the harsh reality of pulsating cities - is remarkable. Every step of his work - from composition to final result - is harmoniously coordinated. This attention to detail and careful selection of pictorial elements gives his work its unmistakable signature.
Street photography is both an inspiration and a challenge for him. Arkadiy loves capturing the dynamism of the city and the spontaneity of public spaces. Whether in hectic metropolises or quiet small towns, the street offers him a tangible authenticity and immediacy. His openness to changing light conditions and unexpected encounters also characterises his nude photography, in which he often uses urban elements as a backdrop. The contrast between rough, angular elements and the softness of the human body gives his images a unique tension. Provocation and situational comedy sometimes meet sensuality and ingenuity.
In addition to experimental nude photography in public, Arkadiy is also dedicated to the classic nude in its purest form. Using soft light and gentle contrasts, he accentuates the natural curves of the body without slipping into the bold. His work has a timeless aesthetic, yet a subtle eroticism that captivates the viewer.
His work has been exhibited not only in Ukraine but throughout Europe. He has gained international recognition through publications in renowned magazines such as 'Stern', 'Pentaprism' and 'Shades of Grey'. He has also received numerous awards for his photographic excellence, including gold medals from FIAP and PSA.
